SUMMARY:

- Superman Remains Super Forever In Our Minds
- Salary Negotiation
- Insight of the Day

**********************************************************
Hi [FIRSTNAME],

Well-known actor Christopher Reeves, who starred in the
"Superman" movies, as well as the films "Somewhere in Time"
and "Deathtrap", died on October 10, 2004.

This 6-feet, 4-inch tall superman was badly hurt in 1995 in
a horseback riding accident. He went from the peak of his
career to the trough of his life. He once considered
suicide, but he could not let go his children and wife.

Reeves managed to get through his dark time and reoriented
his life around a campaign to look for treatments and cures
for paralysis. He established the Christopher Reeve
Paralysis Foundation to pursue this mission.

Was his life a tragedy? Many people would look at him and
say "yes."

To him, it was not. He chose instead to have an incredibly
positive attitude and belief in himself and in life. The
doctors told him he will never walk again. His response was:
"It's not a matter of IF I will walk again, it is just a
matter of WHEN and HOW."

Some people questioned his intentions in establishing the
Paralysis Foundation. They thought that it was because he
himself wanted the treatment.

I would say that even if his intention was partly to assist
himself, there is nothing wrong with that. He had his wife,
he had his children, he had people who cared about him. He
was right not to give it up.

Moreover, his very act of fighting for his injuries brought
a positive impact to people who have encountered great
difficulties in their lives. His message was simply "don't
give up; it is your choice to choose sitting there and do
nothing or stand up and fight for your life."

Dr. John McDonald, director of the Spinal Cord Injury
Program at Washington University, St. Louis, called Reeve "
one of the most intense individuals I've ever met in my
life." Dr. McDonald was treating Reeves for his injury.

"Before him there was really no hope," McDonald said. "If
you had a spinal cord injury like his there was not much
that could be done, but he's changed all that. He's
demonstrated that there is hope and that there are things
that can be done."

Are you looking for a better life at present? I tell you: A
better life has been with you for a long time. It doesn't
matter what you have or don't have, but it does matter if
you can treasure what you have. Start to build your life by
the treasures already in your hands.

"Not what we have, but what we enjoy, constitutes our
abundance."
John Petit-Senn
French Poet
(1792-1870)

Enjoy and live your life vigorously every day, [FIRSTNAME].
Invest your time to help others so as to help yourself.
Soon you'll find yourself quietly influencing yourself and
your neighborhood positively with your attitude. You'll
become more "sexy" in the eyes of others.

Many job seekers reveal their salary expectation at the
very beginning of interview process. This puts you at a
disadvantage in the selection process.

Why?

I'll tell you more next time. Stay tuned.
