The Road To Success Starts From What You Have – Not What You Should Have. |

Whenever I meet someone who is unhappy because they think they should have more than what they already have, whether money or things, I always tell them this story:
Benjamin was an only child. It was Christmas time and he expected his parents to buy a new pair of shoes for him. His parents could not afford anything at that time. He complained and said, "You don't care about me at all!" and walked out of the house. He was so angry that he kicked at everything he saw in his path. Suddenly he stopped in his tracks. He was stunned! Right in front of him was a man without feet! It suddenly dawned upon him how lucky he was. "So what if I don't have new shoes? I'm just lucky to have my two feet!" he told himself. His parents were thrilled to find their son happy and not complaining anymore when he came back home that night.
This is a story you might have heard a dozen times in different forms. But the message is always the same - Look at what you have and appreciate it, instead of wishing for things that you don't have.
From the Web site, The Interview with God , God said. ". . .a rich person is not one who has the most, but is one who needs the least".
When you are unemployed, depressed, or lost in life, the first thing to do is to look at what you have already.
Remember you are your own greatest treasure. It doesn't matter how much you have. It matters how much you treasure what you do already possess.
